Border Livestock Exchange Ltd, who conducted the Farm Sale at Belford Mains, achieved remarkable prices for the field of well maintained machinery. Buyers from the length and breadth of Britain attended the sale of surplus machinery where a 1995 Claas Dominator 98 sold at £27,800 to a buyer from Devon. A 1999 Case MX100 made £12,400; Case 856XL (1986) £5100. FARM SALE – FALLHILLS, Penicuik, Mid Lothian, EH26 8QE.
Border Livestock Exchange Ltd conducted the Farm Stock Sale at Fallhills Farm, Penicuik on behalf of Mr A Lambie. With confidence resumed buyers turned out in huge numbers from as far a field as Thurso to the South of England. Bidding was brisk throughout, with the shortage of young aged ewes evident as many potential buyers left empty handed. Prices: 4 Crop Mule Ewes Warranted & Unwarranted to £65; 3 Crop Mule Ewes to £78.50; 2 Crop Mule Ewes to £106; 1 Crop Mule Ewes to £120; Gimmers to £112. 502 Suffolk & Texel x Store Lambs sold to £50.20.
The field of machinery consisted mainly of sheep handling equipment which also sold in many cases to almost new prices. 100 Bales of 4 x 4 Wheat Straw sold to £11.20 per bale.

A good entry of interesting items met on enthusiastic demand with prospective buyers travelling from all over Europe.
